My fascination with dark creatures and wicked lil' things (blame my addiction with RPG games and horror films when i was a kid) was further amplified after visiting Leeroy New's exhibit at the College of St. Benilde last Wednesday. I can truly exclaim that he is definitely one of the newest artists to watch out for. His most recent success was his collaboration with shoe-designer Kermit Tesoro for Holiday 2010 collection and i blogged about it months ago. In case you dont know, he also presented his works at the Singapore Biennale in 2008 and at the Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale last year. Actually,this exhibit was a project of the CSB students and Gelo Arucan who was one of the hosts , invited us for a night of extraterrestrial intergalactic sci-fi mythology treat. This exhibit might not be for the faint-hearted but Im pretty sure the pieces and sculptures presented perked up everyone's interests big time. BE mesmerized with Leeroy New's Creatures of the Imagination.
