Lo and behold , this is the much awaited Spring Summer 2012 collection of Don Protasio for Cambodia Fashion Week. I feel lucky that he is my friend and we are BBM mates since I saw his works during the time that he is conceptualizing the collection until the time that he is creating the actual pieces. To witness a designer's actualization of his craft is heaven. Like God to Adam. The 32-piece collection is one of his strongest. The story revolves around traveling nomadic soldiers who collected , gathered and deconstructed random fabrics to create a new form of layered pieces. According to Don, it is similar to a military experiment of cutting things up hence Dissection.. Of course , the signature Japanese vibe is palpable. That's why when he told me about the key elements of his collection, I instantly sketched the shoes he asked me to design for this show. The random patches of leather , suede and buckles altogether form a non-pretty foot gear for the travelling soldiers... I could cry right now. Seeing the shoes I co- designed with Gold Dot on the runway of Cambodia Fashion Week is a good sign for my career path.

I demand this show to have a repeat here in Manila. What do you think , Don?
