A NEW CROSS F/W 2012 / Leather Smoke

I had a chance to talk to the designer of A NEW CROSS last weekend. He always starts the conversation by giving me links of the lookbook and short film. We also shared the same frustration and joy regarding the fashion scene of each other and how hard it is to establish a career in this field. Nevertheless, that frustration stemmed into something visionary and esoteric. There is a strong character palpable in their pieces as portrayed by their long undulating coats and use of different fabrics (leather, wool, frayed cotton). I've also notice the direction towards a more structured silhouette but with a maintained fluidity. I can relate to the language that each piece resonates and I congratulate the man behind this for generally showing a compact collection sans the reverberating trends that are circulating everywhere.

A NEW CROSS is a Colombian brand created in 2009. Their view is to produce garments and accessories with a high conceptual content, using top quality materials, and thoughtful craftsmanship processes.
