Emilia Tikka // Corpus
Designers are becoming more profound and conceptual in their thought process , deducing sensibilities from science, theories and philosophical texts. (read: Transdisciplinary) . Emilia Tikka derived her final collection from the Post-structural theorist Jacques Derrida and his analysis of Deconstruction , giving importance to the human body.
We always encounter that term whenever we read works of Margiela and Rei Kawakubo and it's enlightening whenever a form of disicipline is woven along with the collection. Galileo was right when he said: "All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered. The point is to discover them"
Tikka's collection ,however, is a reflection of the theories' main essence which is ..breaking free from the resilient and constricting Hierarchy. It is her way of presenting the future of how the body versus dresses organically will be the stronger form of expression.
"In order to begin the deconstruction, one must break the link between the two opposing concepts."
Thank you Emilia Tikka for the photos
